Product Overview
O-Rings are versatile ring-shaped sealing devices with circular cross-sections that create effective seals by compressing between cavity walls. This zero-clearance design blocks the flow of liquids and gases in both dynamic and static pressure applications.
NBR Rubber Properties
Nitrile rubber (NBR, Buna-N) delivers exceptional performance characteristics:
- Excellent resistance to petroleum, mineral, and vegetable oils
- Superior heat aging resistance compared to natural rubber
- Ideal for carburetor and fuel pump diaphragms, aircraft hoses, seals, and gaskets
- Strong performance in applications requiring resistance to heat, abrasion, water, and gas permeability
Silicone Rubber Properties
Silicone rubber excels in extreme temperature environments:
- Operating range: -100°C to +250°C (-150°F to +480°F)
- Superior tensile strength, elongation, tear strength, and compression set at temperature extremes
- Note: Generally not recommended for use with concentrated solvents, oils, acids, or dilute sodium hydroxide
